I am so honored to have been featured on the Weddings by Willy and Meghan blog in their “Behind the Artist” series. I never actually considered myself and “artist” or a “creative” until recently. I think I was scarred by the C+ on my report card in third grade art. How does a child in third grade get a grade like that?! Oh my, I digress. Then again, an artist is not just someone who draws and paints. An artist can create with words or with actions, in silence or song.
I’ve always been drawn to the illustration of how our lives are like a tapestry. When you look at the back of the tapestry the threads criss-cross and weave in and out and appear messy and disorganized which represents our lives and the challenges we face. When you turn the tapestry over a beautiful piece of art is revealed, the artwork of our lives that God is creating. After all He is the ultimate “artist” and “creative”! So I conclude that I am an “artist” and “creative” since I am the daughter of the most high “creative” of all.
Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
We are all artists in our own way and I’m excited to follow Willy and Meghan’s series and be inspired by the creatives that are featured. Won’t you join me? Please discover, claim and remember that You, yes YOU are an artist!
